Oscar is the name of a very
special Ventriloquist figure that
joined the family today (April
1st, 2007).
The figure is from the
collection of Milton Kort.
Needless to say I am still
extremely excited to have this
figure as it has so much
sentimental value. Milt is My
wifes grandfather and such a
terrific man! He passed away
in August 2003 but will forever
be an inspiration.
He published several great
books on magic:
Kort by Hermetic press
Kort is now in session, and
Off color card tricks published
by Magic Inc.
His talent as a magician was
top notch, inspiring many of
todays great performers.
Oscar is a figure carved by the
late Frank Marshall. Marshall
is attributed with creating such
figures as the original Jerry
Mahoney and Danny O'Day.
Marshall was a very prolific
ventriloquist figure maker
creating hundreds of figures
from the 1930' through 1960's.
