Micheal Myers
Halloween 2007
My Son wanted to be Micheal Myers this  year for Halloween.  But the catch was he
wanted to be the Jack o'Lantern Micheal seen briefly in the new Rob Zombie Halloween
movie released this year (2007)
So we talked it over and decided in order to be faithful to the film and how it was
portrayed we would make it out of paper mache' as Micheal made his many masks in
the movie.
We also wanted this to fit well so we decided to take a life cast of him on which to make
the mask.  What follows are pictures we took of the process and how it turned out.
Taking the life cast.  First the alginate.
Then the plaster bandages.  He was a
trooper even though I think he was
apprehensive at first he did great!
And here is the
finished life cast.
As you can see in
the first two
pictures the cast
needed some
cleaning up where
ridges from the
bald cap were and
the eyebrows etc.
Below is the
cleaned life cast
read for making
the mask.

Hours and many
layers of paper
mache to create our
version of the Jack
O'Lantern mask.
Here is the finished mask.  We painted
it black first then pumpkin orange over
that.  Was intentionally painted kind of
blotchy since Micheal would not have
access to better equipment to paint
with.  We added an elastic band to
keep it in place as well as placed some
foam padding in places on the inside
for comfort.
And now Micheal goes
to Greenfield Village
trick or treating.
While there we ran
into another Micheal.
I think over all the
costume turned out as
planned/hoped and
the most important
part is my son was
happy with it.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
