Old Man Wyman-This age
make-up was created to be
worn by my sister in law.  She
was 13 at the time and was
always a great guinea pig for
my madness.  This make-up
was the first multi-piece foam
latex prosthetic I had done.  It
consisted of a foam latex
forehead, nose, cheeks and
neck piece.  Thank You
Jenniffer Wyman for being
such a great sport.
The Creature- This mask was
created with mechanical movements.
The eye Brows could raise and
lower as well as the mouth smiling
and sneering.  The under skull was
created with fibre glass and form
fitted to her head.  One of the hands
were sculpted and cast in foam latex
with finger nails implanted to give a
realistic effect.  The other hand
utilized a liquid latex build-up method
over a rubber dish washing glove.
The idea here was that one had was
badly scarred by burn tissue.  IN
hind site I wasn't happy with the
teeth but it worked for what we were
trying to create.  Again the Model
was Jenniffer Wyman.
This attempt at a Quasimodo
was done as one of my first self
applied foam latex pieces.  It was
difficult to glue on and make-up
the piece with one eye covered.
Looking back I might have tried
to leave the eye out and have a
whole completely through the
back to allow vision until the
application was complete then
pop in the eye.  Would also like
to go back and re-sculpt the
piece with less eye showing.
Wolf-man-This was a
Halloween make-up for
my son.  We used a
nose bridge appliance
for the wrinkles and
the ear tips were made
by dipping a spoon
into liquid latex and
hanging them to dry.
About 10-20 coats,
trim them and Voilà!
Ware wolf ears.  We
glued National Fiber
Technologies hair to
his face to help blend it
into his own hair line.
This was a fun
make-up.
Wilbur is for an animated short I am currently
working on.  He was sculpted in clay them molded
with Ultra-cal 30.  After the molding process I made
a twisted aluminum armature and baked him in
foam latex.  He is seen unpainted here and has no
eyelids or pupils.  He is still under construction.
Mountain Man was for a print ad for
Mountain Man nut and fruit co. IN
Tennessee.  The beard was
constructed with Crepe wool and
blended with whites, grays, and some
browns.  The lesson I learned with this
was how the nice subtle colors I had
added were washed out in the photo.
Next time I know to go stronger then I
would think so the lighting does not
wash away the added colors.
The two pieces shown here are just for
fun.  I Was making them for Halloween
2006 but due to time constraints there
was no time to apply them before the
event we were attending.  The Zombie
is a gelatin piece and is pre-painted
with rubber mask grease paint.  The
hand is foam latex with a rigid poly
foam backing.  Click the image for

Main Page
This page will contain photos of makeup and FX projects created By me.  I have been
interested in Makeup and FX for over 20 years and enjoy the opportunity to create
creatures or effects makeups.  Learning how to create these makeups can be
challenging but to see your creation come to life is like Dr. Frankensteins syndrome.
You want to create more and see your vision walking and interacting.  I will create a
list of suggested reading material to assist anyone interested in learning more.  The
BEST resource is the Dick Smith advanced makeup course.  The link is in the links
section.  I am a student of the course and cannot say enough how valuable the
knowledge contained in the course is for the student of makeup and makeup Fx.
